There was a crack in the tree trunk, and in that crack a fat butterfly
larva, the favourite food of the chimpanzee, was hiding.
The ape father tried to catch the larva with his finger, but was
unsuccessful. He then broke a branch from a bush. But the branch didnt
fit into the crack. The ape father put the branch into his mouth and
chewed it until it became narrower. In doing so he had made a tool - a
sharp pick. With that he was able to pry the larva from the crack quite
successfully.
