THE ORIGINS OF AGRICULTURE
At first, human beings ate only what they could find in forests or catch
in lakes.

Then they noticed that new plants grew from the seeds they ate. Those
plants produced fruit. People noticed that crops were better when the
seeds were planted in fertile soil - soil which had already been
cultivated. In this way agriculture began to develop.

The first domestic animals began to appear in peoples homes. It is
believed that the first domestic animal was the dog. Then came the lamb,
the goat and the cow, and finally the horse.
