Japanese puppets

The first Japanese puppets were made in 16. century.
The movements of Japanese puppets are like clockworks which were brought in from Europe. On the same principle worked  "auto-mata" puppets in Europe.
European puppets did an impression of human gestures very exactly but the Japanese puppets tried to transmit emotions with abstract gestures.

For making every puppet were needed woodcarver, mask master, mechanic, and seamster. And of course puppet master yourself who could create a perfect puppet.
In these 200 years old puppets had the unique mechanisms.
